Community SpotlightDV Lottery of K1 Visa - Can I file for both?
Petrisaint Mpaka posted a topic in K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures,
I applied for the DV lottery 2025 and hope to be selected this year. My fiancé and I discovered that there is a fiancé visa for the USA. Do you think if we apply for the K1 visa but are selected for the DV lottery that we can stop the fiancé visa process? What are the timelines and options here :)?-

Confused about steps after marriage
SP1988 posted a topic in Adjustment of Status (Green Card) from K1 and K3 Family Based Visas,
My fiancee arrived last month on K1 fiance visa and we got married yesterday. It seems from what I have seen online that I made a mistake by not getting SSN prior to marriage? I am going to the SSN office on Monday to gather more information... also worried about employment authorization and travel authorization(s). Thanks for any insights!-

Tourist visa cancelled by CBP agent. Can we still get a CR1 or K1 Visa?
yotajeeper posted a topic in What Visa Do I Need - Family Based Immigration,
Upon my gf's most recent arrival, her tourist visa was cancelled at the airport due to her frequent visits last year and suspicion of working here. She was denied entry and sent back same day. Is a CR1 or K1 visa process an option still? I would appreciate any advice or tips you can provide!-

2 RepliesHi friends, I'm back again (though this time in the removing conditions forum)!
Yesterday I received my letter from USCIS to confirm that they've approved my request to remove the conditions on my permanent resident status - huzzah!
Now, after reading the letter, I'm a little concerned, as it says "You should not travel outside the United States until you receive your new Green Card, as you may have difficulty reentering the United States. If an emergency arises and you have a need to travel outside the United States before you receive your Green Card, you may make an appointment at your local USCIS office to request an I-551 stamp in your passport that shows temporary evidence of status as a lawful permanent resident."
I actually have flights booked for my husband and I to visit my family (in my home country) in 6 weeks . I had no idea my I751 would be approved now or I obviously wouldnt have booked them (it was filed in February 2023 and I haven't had an interview or anything).
Now, it's very likely that my greencard will get here before I fly (the letter says I'll get it within 60 days and I fly 55 days after the date of the letter)...however, I like to be prepared just in case! Sooo, I went to uscis.gov to look at how to book an appointment for an I-551 and read the attached (please see attached photo, particularly highlighted section).
I was issued an extension notice after filing, that is good until 2025. I also have my expired greencard. As such, does that mean I'd be ok to use those documents when traveling (if my 10 year GC hasn't arrived yet)? And I wouldn't need to get an ADIT/I-551? That's how the attached reads to me, however, the statement in the letter contradicts that, so .
Thanks in advance for advice!

2 RepliesHey so I made a little over 12,000 in 2022 and a little less than 13,000 in 2023. I have both of those W-2s but I do not have a third as my first job was in 2022. I understand neither of those years made enough for the i-134. This year I may be able to find a full time job that allows me to get sufficient income. How will they determine this year s income? Will this be enough or do i need a joint sponsor?

6 RepliesI applied for my mom December 2023, her application status still says "actively reviewed". Until recently we had no issues her waiting back on my home country but now I'm really worried that the whole thing might be jeopardized, due to continuous unrest in Georgia(my home country where my mom is right now). Plus she is of an elderly age and that makes me even more worried about her. I thought maybe it would be a good idea for her to maybe apply for a tourist visa in the meantime and then finish her immigrant visa process here, in the states ( medical, exam, interview etc.)
The thing is, I'm not sure if that is possible exactly. So far, from what I've read online, it seems like it is possible for to visit on a B1b2 while her i130 is pending but she will need to return back to continue her process. it's quite a long distance to travel for an elderly person that never travelled internationally before and the whole thing just makes me uneasy.
Does anyone here had similar experience where they had their parent/parents come on b1b2 and then continue the rest of i130 here in the States? how realistic is that?
I also was thinking about maybe trying to expedite the whole thing?
I am just afraid, by the time her interview comes, things in my country will be come so difficult and who knows, maybe U.S. embassy won't even be there by then and I'm freaking out. My biggest nightmare is here getting stuck there alone and me not being able to bring here:(
Any advice on the matter would be appreciated!

8 RepliesHi all,
Me and my fiance are currently filing for the K-1.I'm 17 and he's 18 (UK).
The whole packet turned out to be ~100 pages, with the addition of parental consent and their proof of IDs.
Does this mean longer wait time -- we're going to file on monday.
